ConnectingVA – Commuter Assistance by WPPDC is a free service for residents, workers, commuters, and tourists serving the Counties of Franklin, Henry, Patrick, Pittsylvania, as well as the City of Danville, the City of Martinsville, and the Town of Rocky Mount.
Through this website and the ConnectingVA mobile app, we provide the following services and information:
- Ridematching to find carpools and vanpools
- Local bus services including PART and Danville Transit
- Regional and intercity bus routes including The Virginia Breeze and the Triad-Danville Connector
- Park-and-ride locations to meet your carpool or vanpool
- Electric vehicle charging station locations
- Bike routes and paths
- ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards for commuters that carpool, vanpool, or ride public transit to get to work.
- Earn points for logging your carpool, vanpool, transit, and bike to work trips in the ConnectingVA app. The points you earn can be used to enter drawings for gift cards to the restaurant or store of your choice.
ConnectingVA – Commuter Assistance by WPPDC is operated by the West Piedmont Planning District Commission (WPPDC) in partnership with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) and their Virginia-wide ConnectingVA program to provide carpool and vanpool ridematching, transit routes and schedules, trip planning, park-and-ride information, and more. Users earn points for logging their trips, which can be used to enter drawings for gift cards and other rewards. Gift cards are delivered electronically, resulting in fast, efficient fulfillment. You can also track the money, emissions, and travel miles you save.
