Patrick County Chamber of Commerce hosted a lunch and learn with WPPDC’s grant coordinator, Kathleen McEvoy. With over thirty nonprofits and public organizations in attendance, the Chamber and WPPDC gave an overview of best practices for grant writing, how to find funding, and what happens after the grant is awarded. The lunch and learn series from the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce addresses private and public sector topics through the lens of Patrick County. Their next lunch and learn will cover how to market one’s business or organization in Patrick County.

With the success of this workshop, Kathleen plans to host additional workshops in other localities throughout the West Piedmont Planning District in the future.  The value of these workshops is that they advance effective grant writing techniques, thereby providing grantees with the tools to write competitive grants.  Be on the lookout for notices of future workshops.
