Patrick County is beginning a review and update of its Comprehensive Plan, the long‑range guide that shapes growth, development, and community priorities for the next 15–20 years. To ensure the plan reflects the values and vision of the people who call Patrick County home, county officials, in partnership with the West Piedmont Planning District Commission and the Patrick County Planning Commission, will host a community input session on Tuesday, March 10, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Community Room at the Patrick & Henry Community College Stuart site.

The drop‑in event is an opportunity for residents, business owners, and community groups to share their ideas for Patrick County’s future. Attendees will be invited to offer feedback on topics such as land use, economic opportunity, housing, transportation, outdoor recreation, and other priorities that will guide the development of the updated plan. Participants will also be able to speak directly with local officials and planning partners to help shape the county’s strategic direction.

“The Comprehensive Plan is our shared roadmap for the future,” said Sarah Wray of the Patrick County Planning Commission. “Input from the community is essential to making sure this plan truly reflects what residents want to see in the years ahead.”

Throughout the event, interactive stations and feedback tools will be available to allow participants to contribute in ways that are accessible and meaningful. The session is informal, and community members are welcome to drop in any time between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Work on the Comprehensive Plan will continue through 2026 and additional public input will be sought during that time. A full draft of the updated plan is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 for review by the Patrick County Board of Supervisors.
